Kote Inventory Management System

KIMS is an bio-metric based weapon inventory management system.The process of issuing and receiving weapons within a subunit's Kote is a time-consuming endeavor, demanding meticulous data entry and strict adherence to ensuring the correct individual receives the designated weapon. On average, this procedure consumes approximately 3-4 minutes per person, resulting in a battalion member spending roughly 3 hours to complete the entire issuing process. While this measured approach may be manageable during peacetime, its inadequacy becomes evident when a unit requires swift mobilization.

Shaurya Technosoft Pvt. Ltd has developed an advanced software-based system designed to automate the individual and GP issue/receipt of SAs from a battalion Kote. 

Components of KIMS

Bar Coding

  1. Individual barcodes have been assigned to each weapon, including Rifle 5.56mm, CMG, and LMG, as well as their magazines.
  2. These barcodes feature unique identification codes.
  3. The barcodes are printed on each weapon and its corresponding magazine for precise tracking and identification.

Barcode Reader  

  1. Our barcode reader swiftly scans the individual's barcode.
  2. Instantly, it displays comprehensive information about the individual, including a photograph & details about their assigned weapon.
  3. This efficient system eliminates the need for manual data entry, reducing the workload on the Kote NCO.
  4. The NCO can simply scan the barcode to record the necessary data for issuing or receiving weapons, streamlining the process.


 

Fingerprint Scanner

  1. Fingerprint scanner enables secure digital signatures for issue/receipt.
  2. The Swift process eliminates time wastage while ensuring authenticity and accuracy.
  3. Guarantees weapons are allocated only to authorized individuals.

1. Types of Weapons 
In our dashboard we have different types of weapons like Rifle(5.56 mm), CMG, LMG, AK-47 and many more.

2. Registration Form Submission
For each set of weapons like Rifle 5.56mm,CMG,LMG and more is registered with weapon registration form in the KIMS dashboard

Allocation of Unique Barcode

1. Individual Barcodes for Each Weapon
Every weapon is assigned a unique barcode, ensuring precise identification and tracking.

2. Generation and Assignment: 
Barcodes are systematically generated and assigned          to each weapon, eliminating manual errors and                    streamlining the process.

3. Barcode Linkage to Weapons
Each barcode is securely linked to its corresponding weapon, enabling accurate tracking and accountability within the system.

Personal Registration Form

Data retrieval mechanism 
When a barcode is scanned using a dedicated barcode scanner, the system promptly retrieves the specific individual to whom the weapon has been allocated.

Temporary Allocation & De-allocation of weapon 

In scenarios such as natural calamities, security threats, or attacks, a protocol for temporary and bulk weapon allocation is essential. During emergencies, weapons may need to be temporarily assigned to designated individuals. After usage, these weapons must be promptly de-allocated and reassigned to their permanent holders. This protocol ensures both flexibility and accountability in managing critical resources during crisis situations.
